Stephen has long had a passion for leadership. He has advised several nonprofit organisations on youth issues. Stephen's passionate interest in social justice issues has led him to work at a grass-roots level with young people concerning the homeless; the mentally ill; people with H.I.V./A.I.D.S.; and prisoners and their families.
Stephen describes himself as "deeply spiritual, but not religious in the traditional sense", but believes strongly that spirituality is an element lacking in many organisations, to their detriment.
Stephen has been associated with the New Leaders Foundation since 1993.
Stephen's interests include his wife Rima and two little girls Rebecca and Alexandra, Freemasonry, history, Australian Rules Football, and politics.
