First some links:
I think Dolphy's one of the more important and just plain fun jazz artists on record. He stretches, winds, whirls, and is just plain "Out There." One can really get a sense of the joy of creation in his music. He's just happy to play. Where some musicians can pout, ruminate, and become introspective, Dolphy can do that and just have a romping good time. I wonder if Coltrane had fun after he left Monk. Maybe so!
I'm putting together some more stuff as I have time. Don't hold your breath. The next stuff here will be about Herbie Nichols. Or Monk.
