NUMBERS

In this section I would like to take a look at the symbolic and hidden meaning of numbers. Although this will not be a crash course in numerology, I will include the Kabalah as a frame of reference on which to base the discussions of the numbers. I will also use geometric equivalents for each number, so the reader can conceptualize the creation of numbers and geometry together as simultaneous expressions in space-time.



Some of the material may seem particularly abstract to the reader, so I will try to cite more mundane examples whenever possible so that the practical application does not get lost in a philosophical discourse in abstractions. Numbers affect every facet of our existence, sometimes obviously, sometimes subtly. Very few people are aware that a particular name vibrates with a certain frequency and the numerological value for any name will determine characteristics for that person, to whom the name refers.



I would cite here the importance given to the Word, biblically. In the Egyptian mythos, Thoth represents the mouth of God, and as such is known as the God of Wisdom, Books and Learning. Hebrew is composed of 22 letters, all of which have numerological values associated with them. In this way, they used only one character set for both words and numbers. Westerners have separated the numbers from the letters and use them appropriately.
