Part II – Small Group Instruction
Small groups read assigned texts and discussed, observed and guided by teacher. Then groups read others’ texts. Mastery groups led small group discussions of texts.

Struggle – “Moon at the Fortified Pass,” “Summer Grasses,” “Call to Arms,” “ Russia 1812”

Reconciliation – Selection III of Tao, “Thoughts of Hanoi,” “Song of Lawino”

Part III – Individual Practice
Students are given cumulative list of remaining thematic texts with the task of reading, reflecting, and categorizing them into the appropriate theme.
