Mission Statement

Christa House: The Jerry Hartman Residence is a not-for-profit home for the dying poor, paticularly those who are living with end-stage AIDS. In the non-judgemental and compassionate spirit of our loving God,the Christa House Community promotes holistic living within oneself and with others,
and empowers the dying to live in peace, safety and dignity.

The greatest rate of increase is among poor women. The protease inhibitors work wonders ONLY on those who...

can get them
can tolerate their side effects
can follow a very strict diet regimen in taking them
are not resistant to them
can pay for them
The protease inhibitors do NOT cure HIV infection....Hepatitis C is on a sharp rise in the HIV/AIDS population....and 50-90% of all Persons with AIDS also have Hepatitis C.

Be Care companions for the sick, attending their physical needs.
Be Buddies to sit with the sick and talk, read, watch TV with them.
Be Cooking Assistants to help prepare nutritious and tasty meals.
Be Gardeners to help make the grounds beautiful.
Be Housekeepers to keep the supply of fresh, clean linens and clothes coming.
Be Receptionists to answer phones and welcome visitors to Christa House.
Be Sundowners to stay with the sick and reassure them when they become confused and afraid in the fading light of late afternoon.
Become a fund raiser for Christa House.
