Nutrients move through
the biosphere in a series of physical and biological process
called biogeochemical, or nutrient cycles.
They are called cycles because nutrients, unlike energy, can be
used over and over again by living systems.
The most common biogeochemical cycle is the water cycle.
Here's an example of it:
As you can see, the water cycle needs trees to work properly.
If there are no trees it will affect the climate.
With a climate that's the same year-round a climate chance can be
disastrous to the rainforest.
And to the earth as well. With big climate changes, it can affect
the whole earth.
Hmm... I wonder what it would be like with California's weather
in Massachusetts?
Something to think about, right?
