ART
If a picture's worth a thousand words, then two
ought to equal an essay, right? Not exactly, but students will find
many art treasures at the sites below to augment their study of literature.
We will be using art in several ways during the year.
British literature:

as preparation for the viewing portion of the HSPA
by practicing interpretation skills.

as illustrations of various literary and artistic
trends such as Neoclassicism and Romanticism
Advanced Placement:

as visual responses to poetry (see DiYanni text)

as the inspiration which produces poetry (ekphrastic
poetry)
