Sweden is a long country in scandinavia in northern Europe. Scandinavia is a geographical region that includes Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland. Sweden is one of the countries which are partly above the arctic circle. The farther above it one comes, the more close to 24 hours the summerdays will be until one comes to the latitude where the sun never goes down in summertime. This also means that the winternights are 24 hours long at the north border of sweden. Sweden is almost entirely covered with forests. Some parts are agricultural areas where meadows and farmland is common. The border to Norway follows a small mountain range over much of the distance. There is also lots of lakes in Sweden. Most people live in the middle and southern parts and around the three largest cities, Stockholm with about 800 000, Göteborg with about 500 000 and Malmö with 260 000. I live quite close to the city of Göteborg. That is, as seen, in one of the southern parts of the country. But it is still further north than Moscow and at the height of south Alaska.
