I've been reading outside my regular sphere. Some of the books I've read should definitley be read by many. I thought I'd put the books I recommend up and you can check them out for yourselves.
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton - This was an extremely great book! It went into detail about the dinosaurs and the characters were explored more. The book is much much better than the movie. There were a lot of things that differed from the movie, and that is what made it so good. A few surprises also made it more interesting.
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley - The wording in this book was beautiful, I have to give Shelley much credit for her word choices. The story is creative, and it beats any Hollywood production of the story. It's not very long, but the wording is intricate. If you have a chance, pick it up, I think you'd enjoy it.
Night by Elie Wiesel - This is a real life acount of the holocaust written by a survivor. The book is not lengthy, but the emotions it holds are very deep and real. I've always found myself intriguided by WWII and this was one book I had to read for English, and I found that I enjoyed it very much.
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen - This is a book suited for younger children, but I still enjoy it to this day. It is about a young boy who is the sole survivor of a small plane crash in the deep forest. All he has is his hatchet and his determination to stay alive until help arrives. I was really encouraged by the boy's struggles, and even though it is a fictional book, I still found myself amazed by his will to survive. I'd recommend it to anyone, and it won't take you long to read, either.
