Get the visa form from the consulate in advance.
The photograph should have a very light background and should be of a specific size which fits the form. Two three copies are necessary
This should state the name of the company of the H-1 visa holder. The position of the employee , annual salary, full time or part time employee , and number of hours per week. The company's contact informatio ( HR ) should be on the letter.
For this a formal court marriage has to be performed apart from the religious marriage.
A copy of the H-1 holders petition is to be submitted. If possible keep the original also. H-1 holders passport is not necessary.
The amount of the DD is roughly around $45 ( rupee equivalent). The DD should have the exact amount , not more and not less. This DD is handed over before the applicant enters the consulate and is common for any type of Visa.
For H-4 the amount is the rupee equivalent of $100. However please check with the consulate. This is to be paid in cash. Make sure that the notes are new and of a high denomination ( 100/- or more ) , since they use a counting machine to count the notes.
