A terrific, action-packed adventure
This is more than a "war" story, it is an exciting insight into an almost forgotten episode in our history which is still a smoldering hazard. Great scenes of action flying, serious information about the pros and cons of McArthur's action in Korea, and an intelligent, capable, interesting lead character.

'Hell to Pay' is a gripping, can't put down thriller
First-time author Pete Azzole has created an authentic, very believable Korean War novel...and
it's about time someone did it! The flight segments and POW sections are especially riveting and
realistic. Hal Kirby is definitely a 'pilot's pilot' and a 'man's man' in every sense. Something tells
me that Hal Kirby and Luther Garr may be destined to lock horns again. At least I hope so!!

Highly Recommended
Pete Azzole's new Korean war novel Hell To Pay takes the reader inside the mind of a man
who is faced not only with an uncertain future but the ramifications of his past. In both war and
love, his main character is stalwart and unflinching, though human. Mr. Azzole writes with
insight about a Naval career. His portrayal of the beautiful Marmette reminds us that women also served, that it was difficult
then, as it is now, to deal with the pressures of relationships far from home. There is nothing
tentative about his portrayal of a Naval officer, pilot and man far from his family.

Fast-paced, well-plotted Korean War novel
Azzole masterfully weaves domestic marital and military conflict in this fast-paced Korean War
novel. As a bonus, we gain insights of the war that are of interest from an historical perspective.
Hal Kirby, a likeable protagonist, manages to get himself into enough trouble to keep the reader glued to the page. There are no dull moments in this well-plotted book.

"Just finished your book, "Hell to Pay".
Damm good job, Pete. I thoroughly enjoyed it and read it in three settings. Took two
cigars and two orange soda pops, oh, yeah, one cup of coffee this morning.
Your work may not scare Tom Clancy into early retirement but it is certainly
a "good read". I enjoyed reading something in which sailors speak "sailor"
language...
...The Plot was well thought out and very
plausible. The strong point of the book was the authentic nomenclature, jargon, and
language of the characters. A navy pilot would understand this book a lot better than
some of us. I think most career military folks will relate to the book very well.
Dialog between characters often makes you feel as though you were back on
active duty listening to a bunch of pilots bull{....} one another. I found it
pretty realistic..."
