The D. Wickham & Co., Ltd. of Ware, Hertfordshire, England, produced these motor cars in the mid 1930's. I know of no railcars of this companies being used in the United States, but a number were imported for South American railroads. All models were available in a wide variety of gauges from 2' to 5'6.5"
The no 17A type gang trolley used a 60 cu.in. (1323cc) 2 cylinder 14.5 h.p.engine. It was 8.5' long, and 5'7 1/2" wide. All wheels were 16" pressed steel. Each front wheel was mounted on a separate stub axle. The rear axle was driven by a chain from a jack shaft. The clutch / transmission was a "Carter" friction drive type. The vehicle was designed for 12 passengers.
A 17A with a metal top and canvas side curtains. Models for gauges under 1 meter had outside bearing boxes. The standard color was green. It had an 8'2" wheelbase.
Two model no. 18As with a 32 seat seat trailer mounted between formed a complete train.

The model No.18A used a Ford truck engine and transmission.
A proprietary differential was attached to the transmission and used chain drive to both front axles.
The model No.18C was basically a model No.18A with a frame extension of 10'9". The rear axle was radially mounted (pivoted).
