We're seeking a versatile journalist to join a growing staff in covering a scenic Southern California coastal county with a diverse economy. Important sectors: technology, public companies, venture capital and finance, retail, tourism, real estate and agriculture. Public institutions include UC Santa Barbara and Vandenberg Air Force Base. We are a 44,000-circulation, independently owned newspaper that has received statewide general excellence awards in three of the last four years. A journalism degree, business reporting experience and Spanish language skills are preferred. Excellent reporting and writing skills, versatility and enthusiasm are required.
