K-5 SPEECH TOURNAMENT

On Saturday, April 12, 2003, the Eagle Point High School Speech team held their annual speech tournament for elementary school students in Jackson County. The following are the results of the tournament:

SERIOUS INTERPRETATION: 1^st Place: Connor Sanders (Prospect Elementary); 2^nd Place: Elena Russell (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); 3^rd Place: Hannah Mason (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); Finalists: Jessica Gaylord and Jessie Godden of Shady Cove/Elk Trail.

HUMOROUS INTERPRETATION: 1^st Place: Cyle Dale (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); 2^nd:Place: Erica Wood (shady Cove/Elk Trail); 3^rd Place: Kendra Towry (Jacksonville Elementary); Finalists: Kayla Anderson (Jacksonville) and Niel Alexander (Shady Cove/Elk Trail).

POETRY READING: 1^st Place: Larkin Reed (Jacksonville Elementary); 2^nd Place: Olivia Iniguez (Hoover Elementary); 3^rd Place: Kassandra McIntyre (Prospect Elementary); Finalists: Kameron Plevin (White City Elementary); Becca Heard (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); and Lindsey Verret (White City Elementary).

DUAL INTERPRETATION: 1^st Place: Johnnie Jefferson and Erica Wood (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); 2^nd Place: Marissa O'Conner and Haylie Winter (White City Elementary); 3^rd Place: Amanda Walton and Michelle Mestas (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); Finalists: Camille Galbreath and Kyla Smart (White City), Breanna Berard and Vanessa Boyd (Hoover Elementary), and Morgan Thompson and Jessica Chandeler (Shady CoveElk Trail).
