"ABOUT ME"


This a picture of hubby(Bill) and I. We both work in different hospitals. We stay very busy with our jobs. I also substitute teach. I sub using my paid time off(vacation days) from the hospital. I work in the Radiology Department as a Secretary. I have worked at the hospital for 20 years. Bill is an Assistant Supervisor of Enviromental Services. He has worked there for 4 years. I will have background info about me on this page.





"EDUCATION"


HIGH SCHOOL YEARS:

I graduated from Lake Hamilton High School in May of 1975. I enjoyed my high school years very much. My favorite teacher was Mr. W.P. Akins, History Teacher. He is still working there. While in school I was in numerous clubs. I was in FBLA, Pep Squad, Teens for Christ, to name a few. My high school years were filled with many memories that I shall never forget. While in high school, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher one day.



COLLEGE YEARS

I received my B.S.E. from Henderson State University in May, 1995. I have certifications in Elementary Ed./Special Ed./and Social Studies. The picture to the left is a business card that I leave after I substitute teach for a teacher. This is so one may call if there are any questions. I also use the business card to put on front of the folders for my cover letter and resume. I hope to get a teaching job soon.



"INTERESTS"


Collecting bear items are a big interest of mine. I collect ceramic bears,teddy bears,bear pictures,bear nick nacks,porcelion bears. My collection is getting quite large.

Swimming is another interest of mine. I really enjoy getting into the pool. I try to get in my pool as often as I can to cool off. Hubby tries to dunk me all the time and usually wins. I don't mind because I enjoy getting wet. :)

Making my own educational games is a major interest. I enjoy coming up with games and making my own instead of spending the money for store bought games. I use material that is already around the house. It is a great way of recycling some of the things one would normally throw away. It is also much cheaper.

Chatting on the internet with fellow professionals in the Teachers Net Lounge has become very addicting. :) I have met many nice people chatting in the lounge and I feel that I have made some nice cyberfriends. :)

I also have started collecting postcards to which I really enjoy. It is a great way of learning. One can learn a lot by receiving postcards. There a many ways of preserving one's postcards. I have 2 ideas on my Social Studies Page. Check it out.

Travelling is an interest that has just begun for me. I took my first plane trip this past April to Chicago,Illinois. We had a blast. We went to a Chicago Cubs Baseball game and the Cubs won. We saw a lot of Chicago but not near what we want so I guess we will have to go back. :) We hope to go somewhere every year different. I think I could get to enjoy going to new places! :)
