Solution to Acrostic #5

Catherine Drinker Bowen, THE MOST DANGEROUS MAN IN AMERICA

Franklin as a youth had shown hot temper, brashness, intractability, also a predilection for wild company of both sexes. In those days he must have been far from easy to live with. Yet in middle life and old age, Franklin's good nature was proverbial. Always he preferred to turn away anger by a quip -- and usually succeeded. Here was a man of strong, tenacious spirit. Yet had anyone suggested a duel with weapons, Franklin would have laughed till his sides ached. If honesty was the best policy, so was good humor.
