Physical:
Gwaihir is a good-looking elf in his mid-140s. He stands 5'1" and weighs somewhere close to but just under 100 pounds. He keeps his thick brown hair long and a bit on the wild side. At his side you can generally find his long-time companion, Meneldor the wolf, who is just entering into his prime adulthood. Gwaihir has many other wolf-friends, who don't always travel with him, as packs tend to make the humans nervous.
Reason for adventuring:
Mostly to find out about his parents (see "What are the elves doing in Shadowdale?"). That being done, he plans on doing some exploration of the countryside, get out a little, kill some undead and other abhorrent creatures, and meet some new wolves.
Religious:
Gwaihir has a deep and abiding respect for the natural world. As a devout druid, he has an admiration for Sylvannus, and to an extent, Mielikki as well. However, he considers Nature as a power older than any magic, be it divine or arcane, and he draws his abilities from that.
