MEXICAN CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO (MCEI)

Welcome to the Mexican Cultural and Educational Institute of Chicago Versión en Español We are a not-for-profit institution which fosters improved relations between communities of Mexican origin in the U.S. and Mexico through sports, education, culture and community organizing activities and programs.

Through its variety of program activities and partnerships with educational institutions, galleries, museums, and civic institutions and organizations, MCEI encourages a greater awareness of the communities of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans, both in the U.S. and Mexico, among the audiences of the Midwest region and elsewhere.

Our goal is two-fold:

1. To foster inter and intracultural interaction, by creating a variety of programs which point to the rich cultural, educational, sports and social legacy of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in both countries.

2. To contribute to the wellbeing of the general Mexican and Mexican-American community in the greater Chicagoland area by providing a venue to facilitate the celebration of Mexican traditions and by providing it with basic education and language classes.

To this end, we are mandated to implement programs in the following areas:
