"Biogenesis"
Episode Information:
SEASON FINALE
#6X22 ~ Biogenesis
Written by: Chris Carter and Frank
Spotnitz
Directed by: Rob Bowman
U.S./CAN Broadcast Date:
May 16, 1999
Episode Synopsis:
An ancient artifact is unearthed in Africa, striking
at the very heart of The X-Files
--but the search for its meaning takes a grave
toll on agent Mulder.
Episode Review:
I am kind of disappointed to say that this is
not on of the best finales... overall, it was an "okay episode", but when
I think of great finales, I think of Anasazi, or The End,
but this one just didn't seem to have their overwhelming power. Now that
I'm passed that, let me talk about the good stuff! I felt that there was
some great acting in this ep, and I was happy that many characters were
actually in it; not only was Skinner, CSM, and Krycek present, but Fowley
(whom I REALLY love to hate), and the long-time-no-see Albert Hosteen were
both visiting. Also, as you can see above, I LOVED some of the camera shots
of M & S... Great faces!.
Episode Rating(s):
Overall Rating:
(on a scale from 1-10, 1 being: "My invisible
pet goldfish could've come up with a better plot than that!" (the lowest
episode in this category, Travelers, scored a 2.5) and 10
being: "Who let God loose on the set?" (Jose Chung's Final Repose,
The Field Where I died, Small Potatoes, Triangle, and
many more are in this one!)
I give it a... 7!
'Shippy' Rating:
(on a scale from 1-10, 1 being: "CC is a DEAD
MAN!" {authors note: this is not a threat! ::evil grin::} (the
lowest episodes in this category, 3, The Field Where I died,
Never
Again, and a few others scored as low as 1) {another authors
note: just because these episodes have scored low in this category, it
doesn't mean that they aren't good ones, I happen to love TFWID even though
I'm a Fence Sitter} and 10 being: "So . . . What name did Fox and Dana
say they were going to name the baby?" (Triangle is a peeeeeerfect
10
here!)
I give it a... 4.5!
(That
little Fowley moment kind of ruined it for me...)

Memorable Quotes:
MULDER: "I am just a hired gun for the FBI."
SCULLY: "Mulder... look, after all you've done, after all
you've uncovered-- a conspiracy of men doing human experiments, men who
are all now dead-- you exposed their secrets. I mean, you've won. What
more could you possibly hope to do or to find?"
MULDER: "My sister."
MULDER: "I'm sorry. I thought this was my office."
MULDER: "In 1996, a rock from Mars was found in Antarctica.
How did it get there?"
SCULLY: "It was from outer space."
(MULDER throws his arms up triumphantly.)
SCULLY: (on phone) "(sighs) Mulder, this, uh, artifact if
I'm to believe what I'm being told about it..."
MULDER: (on phone) "What?"
SCULLY: (on phone) "It has a passage on it from Genesis."
MULDER: (on phone) "Scully, that artifact is extraterrestrial."
SCULLY: (on phone) "Mulder, it can't be."
MULDER: (on phone) "Did you know what that would mean?"
SCULLY: (on phone) "No, it would mean nothing, Mulder."
MULDER: (on phone) "No, it would mean that our progenitors
were alien, that our genesis was alien, that we're here because of them;
that they put us here."
SCULLY: (on phone) "Mulder, that is science fiction. It doesn't
hold a drop of water."
MULDER: (on phone) "You're wrong. It holds everything. Don't
you see? All the mysteries of science everything we can't understand or
won't explain, every human behaviorism- cosmology, psychology, everything
in the X-Files-- it all owes to them. It's from them."
SCULLY: "You're both liars."

(RE-RUN)
#6X18 ~ Milagro
Written by: Chris Carter, Frank
Spotnitz, and John Shiban
Directed by: Kim Manners
U.S./CAN Origonal Broadcast Date:
April
18, 1999
RE-RUN Broadcast Date: August 1, 1999
Episode Synopsis:
Mulder and Scully discover a connection between
crimes and Mulder's new next door neighbor, a strange young author. The
author's work-in-progress mimics almost exactly what is going on with the
investigation. Meanwhile the author slowly starts to fall in love with
Scully, who spurns his advances yet is oddly drawn to this bizarre individual.
Memorable Quotes:
Scully: "Mulder, psychic surgery is some man dipping his
hand in a bucket
of chicken guts and pretending to remove tumors from the sick and
gullible."
Scully: "Well, medicine as you're referring to, is about keeping
people
alive."
Scully: "Well, crime is only as perfect as the man and the mind that
commits it. Even if it were perfect, even if he made not one mistake, there's still his motive. Find his motive and you find the
murderer."
Mulder: "Hey, you weren't joking about being late. I
was about to start
slicing and dicing myself."
Scully: "Mulder, this... is nothing more than a tool... used
by a
love-lorn Romeo who just happens to be your next door neighbor."
Scully: "Frightening, as in too much information and
intimate detail."
Padget: "Special Agent Dana Scully, had herself, become simply
aroused."
Mulder: "Mr. Popularity."
Mulder: "Let's just say, it ends with you doing the naked pretzel
with the
stranger, on a bed in an unfurnished fourth floor apartment."
Padget: "I wrote that Agent Scully falls in love, but that
is not
possible. Agent Scully is already in love."
