Federation Starship Voyager

The Intrepid-class USS Voyager,
is captained by Captain Kathryn Janeway. It was first launched in 2371.
Their maiden journey into the Badlands lead the USS Voyager and it's crew
to be flung into an unknown, uncharted territory - the Delta Quadrant,
75,000 light-years away from Federation space.
The year 2377, six years since
they were lost in the Delta Quadrant. It would be natural for the USS
Voyager to be out of date and not the state-of-the-art starship as it
used to be when it first left port.
In 2374 when the crew of Voyager
made it's first contact with Starfleet after years in the Delta Quadrant,
it's Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH) was already obsolete and all mark
one EMHs were sweeping anti-matter containers. It would seem that Voyager's
programs weren't current technology anymore.
But take a look at the Doctor separately, compare him to the new EMH-2
versions. As demonstrated in the episode, "Message In a Bottle",
The Doctor is still much more advanced that any new version that may have
been created. He is not only a great Doctor aboard the Voyager but he
had exceeded his original programming and can do much much more than the
EMH-2.
Now, what about the technology
Voyager had managed to get throughout their journey through the Delta
Quadrant? The USS Voyager is coming home with a lot more technology than
they first had - with an advanced Astrometrics Lab, Borg Alcoves, twenty-nineth
century mobile emitter, slipstream warpdrive and other technology they
managed to obtain from other alien species.
In our view, the USS Voyager
is far from being outdated.
