Equipment

Current Guitar setup

I got rid of my old live rig and replaced it with this, a PODxt and a Shortboard foot controller. I got sick of lugging around  tons of equipment just to have 4 sounds. see the old live rig here.

Current Equipment Pictures Description Review

Electrics
95' Charvel San Dimas reissue Birds eye maple neck, oiled mahogany body, gold hardware, Floyd Rose bridge, Seymour Duncan custom in bridge and Screamin Demon in neck. http://www.jacksonguitars.com/ My  favorite electric. I got this guitar for a great deal from my friend Dave. This guitar shreds big time. Big, Brown and angry
01' Gibson Les Paul Special Clear finish over mahogany body and neck. I shaved the neck down to bare wood and oiled it. Nickel hardware. http://gibson.com/  I bought it to see if I like the 24 3/4 scale length. The pick ups are stock and they rock. My next guitar will be a PRS.
Acoustics
pre 90' Ovation Country Artist nylon string Natural Finish Round back with piezo electronics http://www.kamanmusic.com/ very comfortable instrument to play, not quite as fat as a full wood body.
00' Fender 12 String cut away Natural Finish cut away with piezo electronic. http://fender.com/ I use this guitar the most of writing for vocals, I just hear more things with it..
38' Gibson ES-100 natural oil finish (use to have a sunburst) 1 soapbox pickup (still works) Very weathered and scalloped. http://gibson.com/ This instrument is just to look at.. It is very worn. The electronics still work!

Old Equipment
Drums 2002-2004   Great for learning on. I upgraded to some electric drums, My vocalist owns them now.

Acoustics
97' Ovation Balladeer 1998-2004 Dark Green finish cut away with piezo electronics http://www.kamanmusic.com/ very comfortable instrument to play, not quite as fat as a full wood body. The action is great for leads.
Yamaha 12 string 1995-1998   Sounded good, but I needed a cut away with electronics.
Montana 6 string  1992-1995

Electrics
96' Fender Stratocaster fitted with a midi pickup 1995-2004 Maple neck, sun burst finish. stock pickups. nickel hardware http://fender.com/ I bought this guitar so I can record with a real single coil sound. I later added a midi pickup. great for playing those Jimmy and Steve Ray styles.
01' Schector 7 string 2001-2004 Maple neck, black finish, 7 strings http://www.schecterguitars.com/ Meaty, beaty, big and bouncy. I picked up this one for $215. Great for those Linkn Park tones
ESP/Carvin mutt 2002-2004 ESP Maple neck with ebony fingerboard. Carvin Koa body, Floyd Rose bridge I found this one for $90, it's worth 3 times that in parts. The neck is very very fast. 80's speed without the 80's look. I still need to loaded it with better pickups.
87' Charvel model 1  1985-1992   I got this guitar while I was still in High School. I think it was my second or third electric. Very solid guitar. I wish I still had it.
B.C. Rich Gunslinger 1989-1996   This thing was a guitar with  a weird back ground.  I refinished it to look like green marble that has cracks in it. I used this as my main guitar back in the 80's early 90's when I played out. Very fast! I retired it to 80's guitar grave yard. (I sold it to a used music store). No, I don't miss it.
Pre 90' Gibson Les Paul Special 1995-1996   I bought this guitar for $300 dollars. I didn't like because it only had one sound, brown chunk. Good guitar but it didn't have my sound. I sold it for $600.
4 String Bass 1999-2004  I call it "the tree" I've had this thing for 15 years. It looks like junk but it still cuts the tracks.

Amps
Carvin MTS 100 watt head 2001-2004 http://www.carvin.com/ For the price it's the best head I've played through.  I put EL34's in it and hand selected all the pre amp tubes to get the sound I like.
Seymour Duncan Convertible 100 watt head 1994-2004 http://www.seymourduncan.com/               More Info This is a unique amp, probably a boutique by now. For a 100watt tube amp, it's much louder than my Carvin 100 watt amp. Great cleans.
2 Marshall JMC900 1960a cabinets 2001-2004 http://www.marshallamps.com/ You can only get a Marshall sound from a Marshall.
Marshall Lead 100 watt solid state head 1988-1990   This thing I found for $100 while I was in High School. I used it to power my setup when I used the ADA tube pre amp. Weird amp from Marshall. I know better now, all tube amps blow these things to the toilet
ADA 200 watt Stereo Bipolar amp 1989-1992   I use this during my 80's days. Just another stereo solid state amp. What was I thinking?
Marshall 2X12 1922 cabinet 1995-2002   I used this all thru the 90's when I was not performing. When I played out I used it as monitor from my amps.
Randall 4x12 cabinet 1987- 1992   I got this thing cheap, and that's what I got..  I didn't like it too much.
Carvin 4X12 cabinet 1990- 1992   Same as above,  got this thing cheap. The tone was much better and louder.

Rack units
Art SGX Nitro pre amp 2002-2004 http://www.artroch.com/                                  Art SGX Nitro support page I've been saying for years I would never go back these kitchen sink processors. But this one fits my needs well!
Rolls/RFX RPS93 Patchwork amp switcher 2002-2004 http://www.rolls.com/rfxnew/ A great switcher/ signal router for the money. This thing gives a lot more versatility in my setup. I love this thing.
Rolls/RFX midi buddy foot controller 2002-2004 http://www.rolls.com/rfxnew/ "Just push a button"
ADA MP-1 tube pre amp + MC-1 foot controller 1988-1992   Great idea! they should have put 4 more tubes in it though. This was the "Triaxis" of the 80's I paid about $400 for this stuff! Sometimes I think back at the times I spent with her., then I wake up and see that what I have now kicks her butt in tone.
ART FXR 1989-1990   Cheap trills
ART FXR Elite 1993-1997   Very Cheap trills
Digitech DSP 5 signal processor 1986-1988   I used this during my 80's shows. I can't remember where it went, but I don't miss it.
Carvin XP-2 2002-2003   Very limited for editing and selecting multiple effects, sounds good though. It is not worth $199 new! If you get one, don't pay more than $50 for it.
BBE 2 461 sonic maximizer     Just junk to fill my rack
Rocktron HUSH IIe   Just junk to fill my rack
dbx noise gate     Just junk to fill my rack

Effect Pedals
Morley Bad Horsy Wah 2001- 2004   Touch it with your foot and it's on, release it and it's off.
Rocktron HUSH 2002-2004   This thing works better than all of the noise gates I've tried in the past. I think I'll get a rack mount version.
Duncan Cry Baby Wah 2000- 2004   If only it worked like the Bad Horsey.
Ibanez Tube Screamer     This thing should never be a replacement for a real tube amp. But it does sound good.
Digitech digital delay 1987- 1990   I got this delay pedal back in High School. It came and went. Sounded good for two channels.
Digitech chorus
Morley A/B box Morley ABY Channel Switcher   This worked well for me. It was replaced by the Rolls RP93 switcher
DOD FX40b EQ DOD FX40B 7-BAND GRAPHIC EQUALIZER
Marshall GV-2 Guv'Nor Plus Pedal Marshall GV-2 Guv'Nor Plus Pedal   This was an attempt to get a lead boost, wrong!

Other
Marshall Power Brake 1995-2002   If you love your amp, do not use one of these!
Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator   I tried this out in the 90's with my studio. It worked OK, but got smart with my power supplies and did not need it.
Hughes & Kettner Red Box Hughes & Kettner Red Box Pro MK III   A guy turned me on to these back in the 80's. used it live direct to the board and he had killer tone.

My Studio 2002-2004   Yes! the Playroom

Old Studio set up 96'   I recorded a lot of instrumentals with this setup.
My Guitars in 96'
