Team CIFOR is currently in its 2nd incarnation, the first team, based in Boston MA, broke up a few years ago. The Idea was simple, model an airsoft team to a Rainbow Six style special ops unit. It would be dificult to copy a real world unit (cost and time would cut into the fun) so why not create a fantasy unit. Because the general Idea and objective of the former group had so many similarites to our own,  We simply took on the old units name and theory (with permision of coarse). TEAM CIFOR lives again!!!!

Not too long ago I was on the phone from Chicago talking to PAWN, an old friend who had been a founding member of the original team. He told me about  units on the east coast who were finally getting over the initail  thrill of skirmish battle and were now  attempting to get good at (realistic) wargaming. the basic Idea, that Units could follow a doctrine that would make them survive and win skirmishes against the usual armed mob style teams. It works in the real world, why not in airsoft.  In my opinion, Chicago airsofters are horribly behind the East and Westcoast airsofters. Its making me wish I lived somewhere else! Thats what this team is about! Making a unit that can be feared and appreciated right here in the Chicago area!!!!

My name is Sam Johnson. I got my first airsoft gun, a Marui G3sg1, while in college in 1995. But it took a few years to find anyone to play with.  Ive had the pleasure playing with some really great teams, Alpha company in New England, and later Team TANGO in Indiana.  These units were very good, thanks to lots of skirmish experience. As much as I loved geting into the woods and mixing it up, Ive always had a thing for acting more like a military unit, and less like a militia unit. Another hobby of mine is WW2 reenacting, its emphasis is completly on unit conformity and effectivness as a whole. I want to make an airsoft team that acts more like that.  I know its been attempted before, but I want to try to make this realistic unit/team in my home town Chicago, IL are you with me!!!  Well thats the deal, Hello to everyone who actually knows me!
