In the year 2018 several business men became testing on random subjects a special gene that changed them into one of the several metahuman forms, these forms were Trolls, Elves, Dwarves, Orks and Shapeshifters. The gene was accidentally dropped into the sewer when a dispute of unknown origins occurred, millions of people became these metahumans and the governments did not know what to do. Finally the government was over powered by a single company who referred to themselves simple as the Corporation. Some of the Corporation were also accidentally changed but some using other special genes decided to change themselves into something more powerful than all the other metahumans and that was a dragon that could retain a human form when needed.
Finally in the year 2057 the Corporation using advanced technology stopped the Earth from turning anymore and gathered up all the people/metahumans that were deemed unfit for decent living in their Light Zone as they called it and sent them over into the Dark Zone. The Corporation was still afraid of a rebellion in the Dark Zone that would sweep over into the Light Zone and so the Light Keepers were formed, a special army made by the Corporation to deal only with the Dark Zone. The Light Keepers made many control towers and established a hellish set of rules that all in the Dark Zone had to obey or they would be killed. Crime was a way of life and the black market could be found around every corner ,those who bought and sold ethier weapons, equipment or infromation were refereed to as Contractors.
Soon a small band of rebels formed and took it upon themselves to destroy the Corporation and bring back light to the Dark Zone. Unfortunately the group was captured and sent to death camps, only five managed to escape and they swore that very day to continue the fight against the Corporation. The group of five consisting of Zer0 a human cyborg, Necromancia a troll samurai, Merlin a powerful human mage and Artifice a elf samurai. And they struggled on, gathering allies and making new enemies. This is their tale....
