And Then There Was You

 

Once there was nothing, loneliness and sadness,

a great void, cold, dark tugging at this heart.

Then there was you, an angel near perfect who woke

this heart from its silent and lonely grave,

who filled that great void and banished the sadness.

Then there was you, an angel near perfect who shed

light and hope, love and warmth upon this cold,

lonely heart, locked away and buried in fear of

being consumed by the tugging, empty void.

Saved from that void this heart you did,

giving new life to this once caring and loving heart,

and to you, an angel near perfect with no equal or

greater has this heart been given, pledged unwavering

and eternally.

Once this heart had nothing, and then there was you.
