A Heart's Desire

What are these feelings and emotions you stir within my breast?

These feelings long thought buried from the world,

Locked up and hidden, secreted from all to avoid the pain,

The pain all too often experienced while they had been in the open,

Freely waved like the banner of some courageous knight.

How have you come to find this heart so long hidden from view?

This heart long covered and veiled to avoid more betrayal,

Betrayal from other hearts, untrue and conniving most,

This heart more loyal and true than the majority,

As loyal and true as the gallant knights of yore.

Does your heart burn as mine?

Burn with such fiery and all encompassing, all consuming emotions,

Desire the companionship of another true heart as does mine.

Does your heart desire such loyalty and love as mine can give?

Do you desire the heart of a true and steadfast companion?

Do you desire this heart, the heart of a valiant, devoted knight?
