Truly Outrageous
Do not attempt to adjust your monitor. You have entered a world of neon pink and blue, a world of extreme make-up and multi-colored hair, a world of glitz and glamor, fame and fortune...
Welcome to the world of Jem and the Holograms!
And what, you may ask, is this doing crossed with my Labyrinth fic? Hm. Good question. I blame society. And the amazing Hollywood Jem page, which I stumbled onto as I was looking for websites about that 80's cartoon. Oh, boy, they have everything, even (and this is my favorite) the wish-list casting of a live-action Jem movie--Josie Bisette as the pink-haired pop star. But I digress.
You see, I got to thinking (and I'm not trying to excuse my writing this story, just explaining...I know I'm going to hell for this), Jareth would really and truly fit in only one other world. Jem's! Everyone walked around in bizarre face paint and strange clothes and odd hair cuts, bursting out into song at the slightest provocation. He'd fit right in! And maybe, just maybe, he'd like playing rock star a little better than babysitting wished-away kids and drunk goblins...
So I leave you to the story. I finally finished it, thanks to the constant nagging, um, I mean, encouragement from Dreamin' (my bestest friend Tara). She's kept me going on this story and done so much for it, including writing the songs featured in it, that I have to dedicate it (and the award it won) to her, with love.
