As a child Abby was pretty much raised by nanniies since her parents were always traveling on business. her parents had high expectations for their only daughter her mother hoped she woud make a good , society, marriage some day and her father wanted her to work in the family hotel business not surprisingly neither of them was intrested in what Abigail wanted to do with her life. Abby was into writng she started in Grade School and with her teachers emcouragment she bagn to dream of someday being a reporter. Her father how ever was quick to attemt to squash those dreams as he said "Matthews are not Muckracking Reporters we make the news not write about it for the masses" Abby was undaunted however and when she was accepted at Oxford she went into the Business school because thats wy her father was "Paying an ungodly amout to educate her" but on the side, using a pen name, she wrote short stories and covered stories for the schools independant journal but as usurally happens in cases like this her father found out about what she was doing and laid down what he thought was the law Abby was to "either stop writing for that journal and concentrate on you're studys or pay for Oxford herself" Abby didn't have to think long about that she split with her parents who disenherited her and dropped out of Oxford she instead with the help of a sympathetic professor at Oxford managed to win a scholorship to the University of London's School Of Journalism. The summer she was nineteen she took an internship at the London Post while she worked at a bar part time to be able to afford the flat she had moved into near the UL Campus. Working for the newspaper would lead her to the single most inportant event in her life meeting Christopher Wyatt. |
