Betcha thought Chris Carter was just REALLY inventive...
The X-Files is a variable menagerie of conspiracies, secret missions, and government cover-ups that are sometimes harder to follow than your favorite soap opera. Now, most of you are probably marveling at Chris Carter and the rest of the X-Files writing staff for being so darned imaginative! The truth is...a good portion of the mysteries they incorporate into the X-Files' many story lines has its basis in real situations and organizations. From the American employment of the Japanese docters in "Nisei" and "731" and ex-Nazis like Victor Klemper in "Paper Clip" to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's evil ways in X-Files: Fight the Future, many of the X-Files conspiracies have been pulled straight from the annals and records of the United States government.
And doesn't that make it all the more frightening?
So if you've ever wondered about the actual Project Seafarer (called Project HAARP) or where the Syndicate came from (ever heard of the Illuminati or a New World Order?), this is the place. The truth -- albeit a debated and still somewhat sketchy truth -- is here!
By the way, if you are still interested when you're done reading, pick up the book "The 60 Greatest Conspiracies of All Time: History's Biggest Mysteries, Cover-ups, and Cabals" by Jonathon Vankin and John Whalen. It's where I got a lot of my information, and I happen to think it is the best conspiracy book ever written. (And for you trivia buffs... what X-Files episode was this book's previous edition, "The 50 Greatest Conspiracies of All Time" shown, and who was reading it? The answer's at the bottom of the page.)
Do you have any questions? Do you have any questions? Then let's get it on!

-The People Have a Right to Know! Roswell, Roswell!-
-Rescuing Kittens and Declaring Marial Law: A Day in the Life of FEMA-
-They Got it Wrong: It's Not Underground, It's in the Sky.-
P.S. --- The answer to the trivia question? The Thinker, aka Kenneth Soona, is reading it right as his computer breaks into the Department of Defense files in the beginning of "Anasazi". Did you get it? If you did, I am very impressed!
