This is the main page. I am trying to keep it as brief as possible.

This page is horribly out of date. Eventually I will update it. However, right now I will tell you that I am working at Pioneer and Frankie's Nursery Frankie's is an amazing place and you should check it out.
I'm a student at Hampshire College after finishing my junior year at Sandy Spring Friends School. The Early Entrance Program at HC is a godsend.
My basic interests: plants (esp. orchids), computers, genetics, friends, and languages. I have a page devoted to more of them. Also, since many of my friends happen to be gay, I support gay-rights. If you would like to know more, drop me a line. My e-mail is at the bottom of this screen and on the Java thingy.
My main interest at the moment is orchids. They present a way for me to relax and go well with botany (which will hopefully be part of my major). I have an orchid page, which contains info about my orchids and my breeding program, but it doesn't have the basic orchid info that the American Orchid Society or Vengers Orchids provides for beginning growers. You can check them out until I create an orchid culture page (just don't hold your breath).
I've recently become interested in languages. I want to learn as many of them as I can before I shrivel-up and die (hopefully at a ripe old age). Part of this comes from a diverse family history in languages (my great-grandfather spoke 6 fluently); but another part comes from the fact that I want to dispel the image that Americans only speak English and don't want to bother to go to through the effort of learning another language (while in Europe most people speak at least 3 fluently). Right now I'm working on learning Spanish and Swahili (I know it's a weird combo, but one takes what one gets). I am hoping to go to China or Korea for my fourth semester, but it all depends on whether I have my core classes done or not. I'm hoping I will.
