When I returned to school in the fall, things got back to normal, just like they always did. One of the first things I was glad I had to look forward to was seeing Laura again, even if I wanted such a thing to be so, because it gave me a chance to tell her how my summer vacation went. One of the things which I hated was the fact that my mother lived up to her promise, by sneaking in a page or two, from time to time, in the letters which my brother and sister wrote to me.
What Molly and Scott wrote, I looked forward to. The fact that my mother kept harping on the same subject, why won't you put the past aside, and accept me for what I am, in the here and now, I was getting very tired of reading. I wanted to show the letters to my aunt, however, because of that little problem, keeping a secret, there was no way I could act upon that thought.
Finally, my mother changed her tune slightly. What she asked me the second time, if it was okay for her to quit her job, move both her and my sister back to America, just so the three of us could be a family again, was something which I had no business trying to answer, so I decided to seek the help of my aunt.
