One thing I should mention before offering my reviews of the X-Files albums is this: I am picky and obsessive when it comes to music. I prefer subtly beautiful melodies to wide-open, attractive loud tunes. And I never forgive banal or common. The four albums available so far as scores and soundtracks differ widely in quality and nature, and the reviews I’ve written are rather… opinionated.

Of course, there are also two marvelous CDs from Mark Snow, one from the show itself, and one from the movie. Both are worth owning, especially the first one, Darkness and Light. However, some of the most gorgeous melodies from the fourth season didn't make it on that disk - it contains everything up to third season or so. I thought I would write reviews for both of these CDs but I feel out of my depth, to be truthful. Mark Snow's music is addictive, that's all I will say.
