Rex Heflin Photo

In the summer of 1965, newspapers carried cover headlines about UFOs spotted in many states. Orange County, California Highway worker Rex Heflin kept a Polaroid camera in his truck at all times. It was used to document road conditions throughout the region. One summer day as Heflin was out surveying the territory in Tustin near Dyer Road, he spotted an object in the air.

He took 4 pictures which were published in The Register newspaper. The photos are now owned and in the possession of UFO researcher and author Ann Druffel. Recent university analysis to determine authenticity of the photos and the possibility of manipulation will likely be consistent with previous findings. The photos have never been proven to be anything but authentic.

Several individuals who have studied the photos and can provide in depth analysis include Jeff Sainio, Robert M. Wood and Bruce Maccabbee.  Robert M. Wood is co-researching the photos with Ann Druffel and the team could release a peer reviewed article some time.
