There are some bands out there who just plain suck. Then there are
ones that should reign supreme over the CD player 24-7. And obviously,
we aren't going to review any OLP cd's here, because we all know that
they REIGN SUPREME! :) Here are just a few of our other suggestions:
Hey! Do you have something to say about a CD you just bought, or one that's been
lying around collecting dust? If you do, write a review! It can be anything, R&B, Alt,
or even classical! Go here
to send in your review. (We'll post just about anything)
treble charger, Maybe It's Me reviewed by SueStorm
This is the third CD that treble charger's
released. The others include self=title that's an enhanced CD, and
NC-17. They also have a whole lot of singles (or so I've heard). And yes, these are
Canadian boys! One cool thing about TC is that not one single guy is always doing the
lead vocal. They pretty much rotate the 'responsiblity'.

Maybe It's Me
1997
Songs that you can't miss: Kareen
Red
Other Notables: Friend of Mine
Christ in on the Lawn
Scatterbrain
What's Cool - A good mix of melodies and rythm (as most TC fans know)
The tunes are humable
These aren't headbanging songs, but are great if heavy guitar, drums and audible lyrics are your thing
What's Not - No lyrics with the liner notes
Some of the songs resemble each other near the end of the CD

This being Zuckerbaby's debut CD, it makes sense that they name it after themselves, right? But how did they find such an unusual name? According to the band, it's German for "Sugarbaby". They got it from a movie (apparently a bad one) that shares their name. It's about how a large woman falls in love with a cabbie and tries to 'lure him in with her sweets'.
What's Cool - | Andy's (lead vocals) voice is easy to listen to |
The melodies stick in the mind very easily
Mellow at times, especially Valentine
Speaking of Valentine, it's cool because it's reminscent of a '50s romantic ballad style
Great lyrics like "Never kiss a rubber soul goodbye...", and a fun message | What's Not - | Their reoccurring 'sugar and sweets' theme gets sour after a while |
'Clouds' is annoying | |
It's not really 'alternative', more 'hard pop' |
