ive just started a 55 gal tank i have 2 devil and 2 dempseys which are small im lookinf for other fish to put in the tank do u think oscars would work if not what do you tjink would work i like oscars but i just dont want two fish in the tank any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Had large Mouth Bass at one time, but they don't want any thing but live food. They ain't picky about how big it is either, but mean isn't the word. Hence, oscars, because of eating a varity of things, with plenty of minnows to keep them happy.

Hello,I have two oscars one is about three and a half inchs,the other is about an inch smaller. I have a question? How can you tell male from female,and how do you breed them? My other question is feeding. Here in Texas we have crickets everywhere and I'l feed my oscars live crickets and they like them. Is it OK to feed oscars crickets? GREAT WEB SITE!!! Robert

My oscars are very aggressive toward each other. I had to seperate the two I had to keep them from kllling each other. One is 11 inches and the other is 9 inches long. I can't find a fish to put with them. they slowly pick at any fish until he dies. Why d you think mine are so aggressive? Please e-mail me with ideas or suggestions.

I have 3 tanks 1 55 gal. 1 50 gal. and 1 33 octagon, this is the one I am trying salt on. I have always had oscars and I love them. One I had live almost 8 yrs. I have had cichlids and I love them too but as they got older the one and only one I ended up with killed everything else in the tank. Well thanks so much for your site. Cindy

I have a breeding pair of red tiger oscars.I keep them in a 75 gal tank where they breed. I didn't plan on breeding them it just happen. I have a 180gal tank where I keep their off springs about 35 of them.
