AUTOBIOGRAPHY
SOMETHING ABOUT ME
My name is Veronica Jane Williams and I was born in Cape Town, Republic of South Africa. I am married, and have two children, Karen Jane Williams and
Caitlin Elizabeth Williams. My husband is Derick Williams, with whom I discuss my work, he's such a good listener! My daughter Karen is a student at University, reading for the B.Sc degree in Physiotherapy. Caitlin is is Grade 7.
I have retired at the end of 1996 from the teaching profession, which I found very rewarding. I taught senior high schoolers in Afrikaans literature, and in an examination oriented country like South Africa, my senior class ranked in the top 20 schools consistently over the years for Afrikaans literature in my home province.
But Ronnie became tired. So she retired. And wondered what a slightly computer-illiterate homemaker can do with her time. Other than creating a home. So she sat down and read fanfiction. A lot of it. Voyager fanfiction, to be precise, and in particular, J/C fanfiction. Then on to P/T fanfiction. And the fun has never stopped!
I have never written a word of prose before, much less poetry! But when I started reading fanfiction, my immediate response was: "I can do that"! So I did it! Since June 1998, I hate to say, I lost track of the number of stories I wrote.
I started the Desideratum Series (P/T), and although Desideratum is the first story in the saga, it was not written first. Now I have under my belt, the Another Time Reincarnation Series (P/T), my series of episode codas, my J/C set of stories, my AU J/P Semper Fidelis Series, and my poetry. I haven't stopped! I have written for other Voyager pairings, e.g A Carey/Wildman story, a series I'd like to continue.
There, that's enough said about me. I hope as a reader out there, you'll take time off to read my stories and poetry!
This is Cape Town
Republic of South Africa
Cape Town, South Africa, seen from Blaauwbergstrand.
The city of my birth. I have lived here all my life. Also the first city of South Africa, founded in 1652. Now most of the time referred to as the Mother City. In the foreground, Blaauwbergstrand. In the background, the all familiar sight of Table Mountain, the middle of the three with its flat top. From there its name. The bay, naturally, is called Table Bay. Table Mountain is flanked by Devil's Peak on the left of the picture, and Lion's Head on the right.
