The OTRDAYS "X Minus One" Project is a group where old time radio fans will listen to and discuss the sci-fi show "X Minus One" together. We are listening to the entire series in order, one episode each Monday evening. On Tuesdays, we begin discussion of the previous night's episode. There is no set format for the discussions - reviews, random thoughts, parodies, whatever. Just be respectful, and enjoy radio's greatest science fiction!
The programs are available in MP3 format from several sources.
First, you can get them online via Streamload. Visit http://www.streamload.com to learn about this web-based file-sharing service. You can download the episodes that we are currently listening to for free by visiting http://www.streamload.com/bradgillespie/OTRDAYS-XM1. Contact moderator Brad Gillespie at bradgillespie@yahoo.com to get the password required to access the files. If you would like to get our entire "X Minus One" collection online, create an account at Streamload (trial accounts are free), and contact Brad to have the files sent to your account.
Second, if you have a CD burner, you can participate in our on-going
round-robin distribution of the show. Go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OTRDAYS-XM1/database,
and click on X Minus One/Dimension X Distribution List. Once in the database, find
the first blank line on the list, and click the Edit link next to it.
Enter your name and address to be put on the list to receive the programs in a
5-disc set (3 discs of "X Minus One" and 2 discs of its parent show
"Dimension X"), and click Save Record. When the distribution comes to you,
send an email to the group to let us know that you received them. Then copy the
discs, and mail the originals on to the person indicated in the database.
Finally, email the group again to let us know that the set is on its way. If you need assistance, contact moderator Brad Gillespie at bradgillespie@yahoo.com
or via the group email list.
Every Monday afternoon, a reminder will be sent to the group's email address listing the episode to listen to that evening. The reminder will also tell you where to find the episode on the 3-disc distribution set mentioned above. The same information can also be found in the Calendar section of our web site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OTRDAYS-XM1/cal.
After we have discussed each episode for a few days, we rate them on a scale of 1 to 4 in four different categories: Plot & Script, Acting, Production Values, and Overall Enjoyment. The results can be seen at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OTRDAYS-XM1/database under OTRDAYS-XM1 Episode Ratings. At the time of this writing, our highest ranking story for Overall Enjoyment is episode #41 "A Gun for Dinosaur". The lowest ranking story in this category is #83 "Saucer of Loneliness".

While this group focuses on discussion of OTR, OTRDAYS and its "sister" group, OTRDAYS-Library, focus on the distribution of OTR on MP3 CD-R discs. For more information, visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OTRDAYS.
Yes! The OTRDAYS Listeners Club is a discussion group that covers a different OTR series every four weeks. For more information, visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OTRDAYS-LC.
