Researcher Charles Marsteller of San Francisco is publishing the penultimate draft of a new Sanford Index based on the research of the late William Anderson Hagey. The work traces Robert Sanford, who traveled to Maryland around 1665 and brought his family to Westmoreland County, Virginia around 1670. Descendants through great-grandchildren are listed.
Copies of this Sanford Index are available from the author, and will also be placed at:
Comments, additions and corrections are most welcome. It is hoped family researchers on this line, or with information about this line, will take note of this publication and contact Mr. Marsteller with any additional information so that he may compare any forthcoming data and incorporate it into a final edition. The goal is complete information for five generations.

Further up the line?
One researcher on this line, Stephen Sanford, believes there may be extant research connecting Robert and Anne's parents, Robert Sanford and Kathe Frankwell, to the Sanfords of Nynehead Court in Somerset. There is anecdotal evidence of Stephen's father having obtained such data from a professional researcher, but it is no longer in the family's possession. This data may also have been in the hands of an artist in Leander, Texas (north of Austin), possibly named Martin Allerdyce, in the 1970s. Stephen Sanford and Beth Elliott would be grateful for any leads.
